CASEing the Catty Blog Hop -CTC102 – Halloween Night

Hello and welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.CASEing the Catty Blog Hop - CTC102 - Halloween Night

This week the crew is taking inspiration from the Halloween Night section (pages 50-55) of the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue.

Whether you’re joining the Hop here at Jackie Noble | creativeJax – or if you’ve hopped on over from Krissy at Krissy B Cards and Craft or back from Monique at Stamping with MoniQ  a BIG hello!

Remember to click on through this week’s CTC crew to see plenty of inspirational projects that the crew have created for you – there’s a full list on the CTC blog page  if you get lost along the way.

I’ve CASEd the scarecrow card at the top right of page 53:

And while I do have some of the Halloween stamps (the influence of living in Canada for a couple of years) – I’ve not gone with a Halloween theme – but rather a baby theme! So instead of the scarecrow – it’s the gorgeous bear from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set that features on my CASE!.

The back ground is the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper (DSP)  – and as the name suggests this et has so much more than Blooms – I think of the reverse sides as the “Bliss”. These abstract patterns that are really versatile. This DSP is one of the eight (8) DSPs that are included in current DSP Sale – Buy 3 Get 1 Free.  But you better be quick – this promotion finishes tomorrow – 31st October. Click on the Image below to see all the details – including which DSPs are on Sale!

There are mixed colours on some sheets of the DSP, as well as two distinctly different palettes. One colour palette – Island Indigo, Mint Macaron, and Whisper White – is perfect to use to create a card welcoming a wee boy into the world.

In my CASE, I’ve kept the layout the same as the original – love that angle of the DSP which is carried through to the smaller pieces of Whisper White card stock. than Kraft Rope Trim though, I’ve used 5 threads of Copper Metallic Thread and continued the copper through to the heat embossed sentiment. How appropriate that I’ve used a sentiment from the Baby Bear Stamp set – another gorgeous set. By inking the words separately, I’ve made it a two line sentiment rather than the single line on the actual stamp.

So … why stop at a card for a wee baby boy? Here’s one for a wee baby girl!

Again the DSP is from Blooms and Bliss – and the palette of Rich Razzleberry, Sweet Sugarplum, Blushing Bride and Whisper White is perfect!

Here’s a close-up of the bears – showing the Copper Embossed “hello, baby …”, the multiple threads of Copper Metallic Thread and the bows – an Island Indigo bow-tie for the boy and a Sweet Sugarplum Hair bow for the girl’s card.

Aren’t those faces just too cute!

Here are the cards side-by-side and showing the inside words.

… ” to hug and to hold, from this day forward” … nothing else needs to be said!

  1. Awwww Jackie, the baby bears are just the sweetest!!! Kelly x

  2. Gee so many ideas using this sketch, both cards are gorgeous, especially the little girl one, as that bow on her head is just so darn cute! Also great tip for stamping the sentiment, must remember to do that more often.

  3. Great CASE of the card – and awesome paper choice too!! These are just the cutest little baby cards – I really love that teddy bear!! And, I agree, this colour palette is just perfect!!

  4. Such cute teddies Jackie, the bows even look velvety. And thanks for the tip with inking the sentiment separately to fit it in the space. Such a lovely sentiment too.

  5. Your baby bears are adorable Jackie!
