I’m still enjoying the polished stone technique and have used it again in this week’s CASE of the card on page 124.

I loved how the Stampin’ Up! artist has used thin strips of cardstock on the leaf – what a great idea. I will be trying that out myself soon.

I stuck to mostly the same colours and layout but achieved quite a different look in my card. The main leaf has Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry Ink on alcohol soaked cotton wool balls which have then been daubered onto the Glossy White Cardstock to get the marbled look.

Rather than the Embossing Paste in the background, I’ve stamped in Cajun Craze on the cardbase and added some Linen Thread to get texture.

Here’s a closeup.

I used a square piece of Glossy card stock and cut the leaf using the Leaflets Framelits. I think these framelits and the co-ordinating stamp set –  Vintage Leaves – are my favourites in the whole catalogue! That’s quite a call – but I do love them so and find they are truly a versatile set!

Here’s what I was left with after I cut out the leaf

And here’s what I made with this negative space!

The stamped sentiments on both cards are from the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set. The word cutouts (friend and hugs) are cut using the co-ordinating thinlits – Lovely Words. These are available as a bundle in the Annual Catalogue – so that’s a 10% saving compared to buying them individually.

Lovely Words Bundle

I’ve just snipped the words out of the oval and heart shapes.

I’m looking forward to being at the New Zealand Craft and Design Show in Porirua this weekend.

I’ve been having a huge destash of my craft studio and I’m selling all this at a BOGO sale at the Show – BOGO is Buy One Get One FREE.
