All Star Tutorial Bundle – April Design Team Blog Hop

A monochromatic layout – me and my three older siblings.

Hello from New Zealand and welcome to this month’s All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team blog hop!
The team is ready to help you create beautiful handmade projects featuring products from the Occasions Catalogue and we have a Tutorial Bundle and a Blog Hop for you!

All Star Tutorial Bundle

Our Design team has created a ‘super bundle’ of 13 tutorials using products from the Occasions Catalogue and it’s a super bundle again as we have a guest designer in addition to our regular design team of 12. It is exciting to have the talented Linda Dalke join us in April.
This month the bundle contains tutorials for traditional style cards, 3D packaging, fancy fold cards, and paper crafting techniques! It’s full of fabulous projects you don’t want to miss out on. Here’s a Sneak Peak of what you will receive in the bundle.

The Tutorial Bundles are based on currently available supplies from Stampin’ Up! and will have both metric and imperial (inches) measurements. So no matter where you live in the world, you can purchase these tutorials and use them to create great projects!

The Tutorial Bundle is $NZ20 – or place an order over $NZ50 this month with me to receive this month’s tutorial for free. See the details at the end of the post to find out how you can get this exclusive bundle of tutorials.

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team Blog Hop

For our Blog hop to celebrate the release of the April Bundle, we will be showcasing a project using some of the same products or techniques that we used in our tutorial.
Remember, these Blog Hop projects are not the same projects as in our tutorial,
as the projects in the Tutorial Bundle are exclusive and not shown anywhere else.

Both my tutorial and blog hop projects use Shimmery Paste as a background element and are both monochromatic.

I found an old picture of myself and my then siblings from when I was a toddler.
In the picture I am with my three older siblings – Stephen, Richard, (me) and Leslie. We had a younger sister, Julie, join the family a year or so after this photo.

The sepia tones in the photo were perfect for a monochromatic 12×12 layout.

Onto a Very Vanilla sheet of 12×2 cardstock, I applied Shimmery Embossing paste using one of the Palette Knives and the brick pattern from the Pattern Party Decorative Mask set. The paste was first coloured with a tiny amount of Crumb Cake Ink Refill so it was a vanilla colour rather than white, and then applied in an uneven pattern to give an interesting background.
The photo itself was also matted onto Very Vanilla cardstock.

I estimated where my matted photo would be placed on the page, and then stamped several images from the Timeless Texture stamp set onto the page base using Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand Classic Inks so they would be behind the top left-hand corner. The images were 2nd and 3rd generation images, which means that I stamped onto a scrap piece of paper before stamping onto the cardstock. Stamping off made the images paler and more in keeping with the tones in the photo.
There is also a piece of Very Vanilla Lace Trim at the top left-hand edge of the photo.

Using the Aqua Painter and Crumb Cake Ink, I lightly watercoloured a Delicate White Doilie so that it toned into the monochromatic palette of the page.
Dimensionals were used to adhere the matted photo onto the base and the finishing touch was the addition of the “smile!” sticker from the Bundle of Love Memories & More Card Pack.

It was fun making the page and looking back through the old photos. I’m sure you will enjoy looking through the projects in our Blog Hop too!

Here’s a little Sneak peek of my tutorial project which also used blends.
