Design it with Designer Series Paper! A brand new International Design Team!

Design it With Designer Series Paper

I’m super excited to be part of a brand new International Design Team! We are delighted to be introducing our Design it with Designer Series Paper Blog Hop. Today is our first ever Blog Hop – so glad you called in!

Our Design Team is made up of 11 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from throughout the world – one from each of the countries/markets that Stampin’ Up! has a presence in. We have come together to share projects focusing on the beautiful Designer Series Paper in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogue.

Each month we will be featuring a different paper and we are kicking off with the Garden Impressions 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper for our first Hop!

Without further ado – here is my first Design it with Designer Series Paper Project – well I guess it is “projects” as there are two!

Not cards – but mini albums. These can be used as a mini photo album, or a journal, or a card with lots of space for messages or an inspirational piece when filled with positive sentiments.

I’ve made a one to give as a gift to a friend that features the floral papers, and one for a baby album that features the abstract designs.

All Stampin’ Up!s Designer Series Papers are Acid and Lignin Free – so they for great for Memory Keeping. I have previously made some these gorgeous mini albums with now-retired DSP and was keen to see how they’d look with the Garden Impressions DSP.  These Mini Albums fold flat when closed and are secured shut with ribbon. When opened, the ribbon can be tied to hold the album completely open, or it can be left untied and the album keeps some of the triangular shapes.

The paper in this set is very different on each side – there are 12 floral patterns on one side and twelve abstract designs on the reverse. Hence the two albums – I wanted to show how different the paper is depending on which side you use. So very versatile!Garden Impressions

There is quite a large range of colours in the papers – Calypso Coral, Mango Melody, Melon Mambo, Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Petal Pink, Powder Pink, Shaded Spruce, Soft Sea Foam, So Saffron, Whisper White. I’ve used several of these as mats in the albums.

You can see all the gorgeous patterns more clearly in this short video from Stampin’ Up!

I wanted to see what a mini album looked with the floral patterns compared to the abstract patterns, so choose to use a different DSP in each of the four sections of the mini albums. The two albums use the same four DSPs – they are just reversed.

The albums are partly open in the top image, while the bottom images show the underside of the album.

The images in the photo below show the albums fully opened with ribbons tied to keep them open. I love how you can see all the DSP.

In the floral mini album, I have also used another product from the Garden Impressions Suite which the DSP is part of – the Springtime Impressions Thinlit Dies. You can see an image of the dies in the table below. I used the small flower dies on each of the inside sections and cut a piece from the large die for the front of my album. Here’s one of the die cutouts on the inside of the album.

The ribbon on the floral album is also from the Product Suite and comes as a combo of Metallic Shaded Spruce and Petal Pink ribbon. The Darling Label Punch was used to make the banner for the diecut and also the sentiment which is from Baby Elephant.

The Darling Label Punch comes as part of a special punch box – the Darling Label Punch Box which contains the punch, a stamp set, and two inkspots. These items are all presented in a stunning tin.

The same punch was used on the front of the baby-themed mini album. For this album, I cut a strip and only punched out the shape of each corner. Again the sentiment is from the Little Elephant stamp set  – as is the elephant which has been punch out with the coordinating punch. The stamp and punch are available to purchase as a bundle – which of course saves you 10%

I love the little ears – these are from the punch as well and I’ve only adhered the edge so that they poke up and look like flappy ears!

The ribbon used to secure the album closed is the Ruffled Ribbon – in Powder Pink. This ribbon is available in the 2017-2019 InColors. Other elements on the front of the baby album are a circle of DSP and a small piece of Powder Pink Mini Ruffled Ribbon – both attached to a Mango Melody front panel which has been run through the Big Shot in the Subtle Dynamic embossing folder. It’s a bit hard to tell in the photo – but that baby elephant has a sparkly coat of Wink of Stella.
