Painted Seasons Notecard Folder

Design it With Designer Series Paper

Welcome to this month’s Design it with Designer Series Paper Blog Hop.

Our Design Team is made up of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from throughout the world – one from each of the countries/markets that Stampin’ Up! has a presence in. We have come together to share projects focusing on the beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogues.

Each month we will be featuring a different designer series paper and in March we are featuring a Sale-A-Bration DSP – the beautiful Painted Seasons 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper.

Design it with DSP Blog Hop Project

For my Blog Hop Project this month I’m featuring the Painted Seasons DSP in a cute folder that holds four Notecards and envelopes.

Painted Seasons Notecard Folder

This folder is “an oldie but a goodie” and when I saw the Painted Seasons DSP I knew it would look fabulous as a folder.

There is no cutting or sticking needed when you make the folder – only scoring and folding!

I started with a full 12″ x 12″ piece of DSP and here are the scoring measurements I used.

Painted Seasons Notecard Folder scorelines

I’ve made these from other sizes too, but you won’t fit the Notecards into a smaller folder.

After I’d scored and folded the DSP to make the folder, I tied a piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon around it to keep it securely closed when full.

This is the inside with the four Whisper White notecards & Envelopes in place.

Painted Seasons Notecard Folder

Here are the four matching notecards:

Each notecard features one of the DSPs in the Painted Seasons DSP. The technique I’ve used with ripping the DSP means both sides of the DSP is visible.

I started with a piece of DSP that was the same size as the notecard in one direction and longer in the other. (You could do this either way and with any sized card.) In the photo below you can see how I’ve torn the paper on a slight angle.

I’ve then turned one of the pieces of DSP over …

… and adhered them onto the card front.

Because the DSP was longer than the card front, the angles tuck under and over each other and the whole of the card front is covered.

Looking at the four cards again – you can see the different DSPs. You can also see that to each notecard I’ve added a piece of the Whisper White Flax Ribbon behind a sentiment which is stamped in Early Espresso onto a coordinating coloured cardstock. These sentiments are from another Sale-A-Bration product – the Part of My Story stamp set.Part of my Story

They’ve been punched out using the Story Label Punch. Each label has an Early Espresso coloured label behind it.
