September Mash Up – Pressed Petals and Monster Bash

Pretty

Welcome to this month’s Pretty Cards & Paper International Blog Hop.

Our Design Team is made up of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from throughout the world – one from each of the countries/markets that Stampin’ Up! has a presence in.

Each month we will be featuring a different card or designer series paper in our projects – but in September Design Team Members could choose from two –  Pressed Petals from the Annual Catalogue, and Monster Bash from the recently released Holiday Catalogue.

Pressed Petals Christmas Card

Pressed Petal Christmas Card

  • Merry Merlot card base
  • Crumb Cake cardstock (embossed with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder and sponged with Crumb Cake ink pad) layered onto the top half of the card base
  • Scripty patterned DSP from the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP layered onto the lower half of the card base
  • Torn Mossy Meadow coloured music paper from Pressed Petals Specialty DSP (sponged along torn edges with Glitzy Gold Delicata Ink pad)  attached with dimensionals to card front.

Pressed Petal Christmas Cards

  • Mossy Meadow thread (from Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo) tied around front of card.
  • A sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas, stamped in Golden Glitz Delicata Ink onto a shape cut from Merry Merlot using the Ornate Frames Dies. The edges of this shape were inked with the Golden Glitz before attaching to another of the Ornate Frame Dies which had also been coloured with Golden Glitz Delicata Ink.

Pressed Petals Christmas Card

  • Antique Gold Designer Element adhered to bottom right corner.
  • A torn strip of the embossed, inked Crumb cake cakestock was attached to a Whisper White inside card liner.

Monster Bash Coffin

At my recent Creative Escape (aka weekend Craft Retreat) I had several gift boxes for attendees which contained treats or Stampin’ Up! Product.

We don’t really do Halloween here in New Zealand – though having lived in Canada for a couple of years Roy and I have been known to have a Halloween party or two!

These little boxes come precut – ready to assemble.

  • I put the boxes together using Tombow glue
  • I ran the Golden Glitz Delicata Ink pad along the edges of the coffin to “age” it.
  • I stamped a sentiment from the Boo to You Stamp Set
  • I cut out some of the images from the Monster Bash Designer Series paper along with a strip of the cobweb patterned paper to decorate the front to the coffin.

Monster Bash Coffins

I thought the coffins made a great little box for some ribbon – even if they were “Just a Little Creepy”

Here you can see the empty box which has some DSP in the bottom.

I enjoyed making both these projects.

Now hop of through and see what projects the other talented members of the Pretty Cards & Papers Design Crew have created with this month’s Designer Series Papers.
