June Tutorial Bundle World of Good

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team

Hello from New Zealand – It’s your friendly Kiwi here!

All Star Design Team – that’s a wrap for me!

It’s great to be creating with the All Star Team again.

This month will be my last bundle and blog hop with the team as I have decided to step back from all the Design Teams I am currently on. I have so enjoyed my time with the All Star Design Team and have always felt honoured – and humbled – to be working with such talented and successful demonstrators from around the world.  A special shout out of thanks to Kylie Bertucci! I remember being giddy with excitement at being selected to join the group two & a half years ago. It’s been a blast! All the best!

Now – it’s time for a new Tutorial Bundle and Blog Hop for you.

All Star Tutorial Bundle

Our Design team has created a bundle of 12 tutorials using Stampin’ Up! products and all featuring products from the stunning – and just released World of Good Suite. Let me say – I’m in love with it all! … rich earthy tones, travel and global themes, antique embellishments, co-ordinating Memories and More Card Pack, embossing folder that gives you textured paper – the list goes on!

Here’s a Sneak Peek of the projects you will receive in the June bundle.

2020 June Tutorial Sneak Peek

The Tutorial Bundles use currently available supplies from Stampin’ Up! and have both metric and imperial (inches) measurements – perfect no matter where you live in the world.
Place an order over $NZ50 this month with me to receive this month’s tutorial for free. Or the Tutorial Bundle is available to purchase for $N20.

All Star Blog Hop

Remember, the projects throughout the Blog Hop are not the same projects as in our tutorial – they are 12 different projects. My project for the hop is a card that co-ordinates with the mini-album project I created for the Tutorial Bundle.

Comforting Watercolouring – Totally Techniques Blog Hop

totally Techniques

Hello and Welcome to the Totally Techniques Blog Hop!  I’m Jackie Noble from Porirua in New Zealand.

This month, our featured technique is Watercolourking – thanks for the great theme Lynsay!

Comforting Watercolouring

There are so many ways to incorporate watercolouring into cardmaking. I’ve used two – a background watercolour wash and emboss resist .

For my card today I took my inspiration from an Anniversary card I received from one of my Australian Demonstrator friends – the lovely Julia Quinn.

Watercolour Comfort & Hope

Project Details

  • Stamp set:
    • Comfort & Hope (available 3rd June)
  • Paper/card:
    • Shimmery White
      • Card Base – 21cm x 14.8cm, scored at 10.5cm
      • Mat inside and out – 9.7cm x 14.0cm -two pieces
      • Top layer – 9.0cm x 13.3cm
      • for punching – 10.5cm x 6cm
      • scrap for sentiment
  • Ink:
    • Soft Suede
    • VersaMark
  • Accessories:
    • Gold Gilded Gems
    • Clear Embossing Powder
  • Tools:
    • Watercolouring Brush
    • Heart Punches
    • Embossing Buddy (retiring)
    • Heat Tool

Additional Project Photos

The close up shows a variation in colour you can get when creating a watercolour wash background. I have made a dark background as I wanted it to contrast with the uncoloured scalloped heart.

Before I watercoloured, I  stamped the grid image in Soft Suede. Next, I stamped and clear embossed the circular image. Lastly, I watercoloured in Soft Suede. The clear embossed image resists the watercolour. So you can see what is underneath the embossed areas – in this case, parts of the stamped grid image and lots of unstamped cardstock. If I had used White embossing powder, I would still have got the circular image – but that would have also covered the grid pattern which I didn’t want to do.

Comfort & Hope

Prior to punching out the smooth-edged heart, I watercoloured and left it to dry before stamping the sentiment repeatedly.

There are Dimensionals under the top sentiment and under both heart shapes.

The Gilded Gems add a little shine to the card.

I added a little stamping to the inside of the card.

Now it’s time to see what projects the other blog hop participants have shared today

Under the Weather Hugs! – Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop

Comfort & Hope Stamp SetComfort & Hope

Hello from New Zealand – It’s your friendly Kiwi here!

Stampin' Creative Header

Welcome to March’s Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop.

Our Design Team is made up of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from throughout the world and we love blogging together each month to share new Creative projects with you all. You’re currently with Jackie Noble – aka CreativeJax – in Porirua, New Zealand.

This month our theme is Under the Weather.

I’ve taken a figurative interpretation of our theme for the card I’m sharing with you today.  I figure there’re lots of reasons someone might be feeling under the weather – particularly at the moment. So my card is pretty generic and could be used in many of those circumstances.

The project also gives you a sneak Peek at some about to be released new products!

Hello Reverse Masking- Totally Techniques April Blog Hop

Hello Reverse Masking

Hello Reverse masking

totally Techniques

Hello and Welcome to the Totally Techniques Blog Hop!  I’m Jackie Noble from Porirua in New Zealand.

This month, our featured technique is Reverse Masking – thanks for the great theme Shannean!

Hello Reverse Masking!

I love how Reverse Masking provides a focal point on a card that provides an “anchor” for all the stamping and draws the eye towards the scene.

On my card today I’ve used a hexagon shape as my mask. Into the masked area, I have added colours using a brayer to create a waterscape.

Hello Reverse Masking

I haven’t added any other stamps other than the trees as I really wanted a clean uncluttered scene to give an impression of how vast the ocean is.

Project Details

(Note: see the Product List below for images & links to more information about the items)

Stamp sets: Timeless Tropical

Paper/card:

  • Whisper White – 14.3cm x 10cm
  • Crumb Cake – 14.8cm x 21cm, scored at 10.5cm on long side.

Ink: Pool Party, Pretty Peacock, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake (these were the colours in the Stampin’ Up! #keepstamping Creative Challenge that has just finished)

Accessories: Gilded Gems, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Tools: Brayer, Stitched Nested Labels Dies, Subtles Embossing Folder

Non Stampin’ Up!: Rice

Additional Project Photos

The background is created by using a piece of Whisper White that has had one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies cut from the centre. This was placed over the smaller piece of Whisper White and a brayer was used to apply layers of ink onto the card to build the scene. An additional piece of paper was used as the horizontal mask to create the horizon.

reverse masking

The mask was removed and trees were then stamped so it was partly on and partly off the background scene. After the stamping was complete, the coloured and stamped Whisper White was run through the embossing machine in the Subtles 3D embossing folder.

Here’s a close-up where you can see the texture from the Subtles Embossing Folder. I’m so pleased this folder is not retiring!

Hello Reverse Masking

The Gilded Gems add a little shine to the card.

I added a little stamping to the inside of the card.

While every demo can work towards and potentially earn the trip, only a limited number of demos (less than 1% of all demonstrators) reach the level required to earn the trip each year.

As Achieving Demonstrators, we hop together once a month to show you ideas and designs using current Stampin’ Up! products.

Each month we will be featuring a different card or designer series paper (DSP)  in our projects.

The daisies were fussy cut out and have those gorgeous Gilded Gems added to their centres. Of course, the DSP is carried through to the inside of the card!

Ornate Garden

The layers of white and gold were made using the Ornate Layers Dies. For the card I used the diecuts at the actual size of the dies but for the gift box I adjusted the size – making each a little smaller to fit.

Ornate Layers Dies

For the box, I wrapped the layers over one edge of the box.

Te box is held closed by the ribbon around the side, and then opens diagonally to reveal the box base inside.

Ornate Garden

The box lid is all made from one piece of DSP.

Here are the measurements for the Box (base and lid) with cutting and scorelines marked.

I’d love to see your version if you create a box like this – tag it #diagonallyopeningbox

Botanical Prints Medley – Tutorial Bundle Design Team Blog Hop

Botanical Prints  – a Kiwi Twist

botanical Prints feijoa

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team

Hello from New Zealand – It’s your friendly Kiwi here!

Note: Orders currently placed with me will be packed & stored in the Stampin’ Up! Warehouse (Sydney) until New Zealand is out of our national Alert Level 4 and allowing the delivery of non-essential items.

ORDERING AND SHIPPING UPDATE (1.15 pm, Wednesday, 1 April):

To comply with the New Zealand Government request to only ship essential goods, Stampin’ Up! have decided to hold all Stampin’ Up! shipments into New Zealand during our Alert Level 4. That means that you can still place orders, which will be prepared for shipment and stored in the distribution centre until shipping into New Zealand resumes.

I would like to very clearly state my FULL support for this decision. In addition, during Alert Level 4  I personally and business-wise will NOT be using the mail or courier services – except for essential items – so no cards or class kits or classes-to-go will be shipped at the moment.

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team

It’s great to be hopping with the All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team – we are ready to help you create beautiful handmade projects featuring Stampin’ Up! products. It’s time for a new Tutorial Bundle and Blog Hop for you.

All Star Tutorial Bundle

Our Design team has created a bundle of 12 tutorials using Stampin’ Up! products and all featuring the Botanical Prints Medley.

This month we have a special treat – the tutorials in our Bundle are videos! Exciting!

Here’s a Sneak Peek of the projects you will receive in the bundle.

April Bundle Sneak Peek

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team Blog Hop

Remember, the projects in the Blog Hop are not the same projects as in our tutorial – the projects in the Tutorial Bundle are exclusive and not shown anywhere else.

While the project being shared today and my project in the Tutorial Bundle are both made using the Botanical Prints Product Medley – they are different projects.

Blog Hop Project – Feijoa Card

Botanical Prints - Feijoa

The botanical images in this medley are really versatile – they could be a huge variety of different fruits, buds, berries or flowers! I’ve stamped and coloured the fruity image in Garden green to become a New Zealand favourite – the feijoa. As I say in the video that is in the bundle – you either love them or hate them – I LOVE them!

They grow on an evergreen tree that is part of the same family as our famous pohutukawa tree – their flowers ere even very similar – maybe that’s why we like them and their original and distinctive flavour!

Here’s an another view of the card.

Botanical Prints - Feijoa

Project Details

Paper/card: Garden Green, Shimmery White, Botanical Prints DSP

Stamp sets: Botanical Prints

Ink: Garden Green

Accessories: Coloured Metal Bee Embellishments, Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon

More Project Photos

The Reversible Ribbon is a great addition to the colours of the feijoa – and how cute is that bee!

Botanical Prints - Feijoa

This is the inside of the card where I’ve stamped a couple more of the images and used the Blender Pens to colour.

Botanical Prints - Feijoa

… and just so you can see the inside of those feijoas a little more!

Botanical Prints - Feifoa

My favourite way to eat them is simply cut in half like this and to scoop the flesh out with a spoon … mmmmmmmm

They also make very tasty muffins!

***Ordering and Shipping Update *** Create with Pip & Jax – By the Dock Online Class – April

Create with Pip & Jax

by the Dock

Updated:

A new month, a new Class from Create With Pip and Jax, and a new “normal” for us here in New Zealand and around the globe!

Shortly after posting about April’s Create with Pip & Ja Class, I received notification from Stampin’ Up! that they will be stopping shipping to New Zealand from 1.59am (NZT) on Friday for at least the following 3 weeks. However – ordering will continue to be available – the orders will be processed, packed and held at the warehouse until shipping recommences.

The following is from the email I have received:

“You’ve likely heard that Prime Minister Ardern of New Zealand has asked businesses to ship only essential goods into the country. In an effort to comply with this request from the government and to do our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19, we have decided to hold all Stampin’ Up! shipments into New Zealand for at least the next three weeks. Although orders will not be shipped into New Zealand during these next few weeks, you and your customers may continue placing orders, which we will still prepare for shipment.       …

All orders received by 11:59 pm (AET) on Thursday 2 April will ship as normal. Any orders received after that time will be processed, packed and stored in the distribution centre until shipping to New Zealand resumes.

We anticipate this hold on shipments to last at least three weeks. This timeframe aligns with the government’s current Alert Level 4 status, which is roughly one week into a four-week lockdown. ”

I am personally fully supportive of this decision by Stampin’ Up! I fully understand that it will impact the company as well as us Independent Demonstrators and the many people that purchase our fabulous products. I do believe that allowing us all to keep ordering – but holding those orders back from shipping at the moment is the right thing to do.

With this announcement, I am happy to resume placing orders after the 11.59 (AET) Thursday 2 April timeframe noted. This is 1.59am on Friday 3 April.    By placing orders from that time I know they will not be entering the New Zealand Postal/Courier Services

This does, of course, mean that any orders will not be shipped – so you need to be aware that it will be at least 3 weeks before they arrive in New Zealand. In the meantime, I will send the pdf electronically as you can use the projects as inspiration using products you may currently have.

I will continue to not be placing items into the mail/courier services until the restrictions on the use of these essential services have been revised.

So …

I’m delighted to share the details of April’s Create with Pip & Jax Online Class -a global collaboration between myself and Pip Todman (Queen Pip Card).

We are two good friends who met online, and then in person, and we just clicked.

Even our logos work well together!Queen Pip Cards & CreatieJax
