Stampin’ Creative Birthday Bonanza Global Blog Hop

Hello from your friendly Kiwi, & welcome to September’s Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop.

Our Design Team is made up of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from throughout the world and we love blogging together each month to share new Creative projects with you all. You’re currently with Jackie Noble – aka CreativeJax – in Porirua, New Zealand.

This month’s theme is “Birthday Bonanza” and we are all excited to share some birthday love!

When I read “bonanza” – I decided that deserved more than just ONE project!

 Project 1 – Children’s Monster Card (Boo to You)

I love looking for alternative uses for stamp sets and other products – especially ones themed for occasions not observed here in New Zealand. Unfortunately, Halloween isn’t really done here – a shame as I loved getting into the spirit when we lived in Canada. Those monsters in Boo to You were crying out to me to be used in children’s birthday cards!

In New Zealand, they will donate $NZ4.50 to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand for every set sold. It is Mental Health Awareness Week in New Zealand this week – a perfect time to highlight this versatile set.

Here’s a Birthday card for the Silver Fox in your life!

September Mash Up – Pressed Petals and Monster Bash

Pretty

Welcome to this month’s Pretty Cards & Paper International Blog Hop.

Our Design Team is made up of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from throughout the world – one from each of the countries/markets that Stampin’ Up! has a presence in.

Each month we will be featuring a different card or designer series paper in our projects – but in September Design Team Members could choose from two –  Pressed Petals from the Annual Catalogue, and Monster Bash from the recently released Holiday Catalogue.

Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper                          149500

Pressed Petals Specialty DSP

Here’s all the important info:

Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper  149500

Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper is a lightweight paper with photographic images of real pressed petals on one side and vintage designs on the other. One design has distinct designs to cut out and use on card fronts.

* 24 sheets of specialty patterned paper: 4 each of 6 double-sided designs
* 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm)
* Acid free
* Lignin free

Product colours: Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, Rococo Rose, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla

Monster Bash Designer Series Paper                                                150447

Monster Bash DSP

Here’s all the important info:

Monster Bash Designer Series Paper provides a fresh take on favourite Halloween characters and themes.

* 12 sheets of designer paper: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs
* 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm)
* Acid free
* Lignin free

Product colours: Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede, Terracotta Tile, Whisper White

I couldn’t choose between the two papers  – so have a project made with each for you!

Pressed Petals Christmas Card

Pressed Petal Christmas Card

  • Merry Merlot card base
  • Crumb Cake cardstock (embossed with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder and sponged with Crumb Cake ink pad) layered onto the top half of the card base
  • Scripty patterned DSP from the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP layered onto the lower half of the card base
  • Torn Mossy Meadow coloured music paper from Pressed Petals Specialty DSP (sponged along torn edges with Glitzy Gold Delicata Ink pad)  attached with dimensionals to card front.

Pressed Petal Christmas Cards

  • Mossy Meadow thread (from Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo) tied around front of card.
  • A sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas, stamped in Golden Glitz Delicata Ink onto a shape cut from Merry Merlot using the Ornate Frames Dies. The edges of this shape were inked with the Golden Glitz before attaching to another of the Ornate Frame Dies which had also been coloured with Golden Glitz Delicata Ink.

Pressed Petals Christmas Card

  • Antique Gold Designer Element adhered to bottom right corner.
  • A torn strip of the embossed, inked Crumb cake cakestock was attached to a Whisper White inside card liner.

Monster Bash Coffin

At my recent Creative Escape (aka weekend Craft Retreat) I had several gift boxes for attendees which contained treats or Stampin’ Up! Product.

We don’t really do Halloween here in New Zealand – though having lived in Canada for a couple of years Roy and I have been known to have a Halloween party or two!

These little boxes come precut – ready to assemble.

  • I put the boxes together using Tombow glue
  • I ran the Golden Glitz Delicata Ink pad along the edges of the coffin to “age” it.
  • I stamped a sentiment from the Boo to You Stamp Set
  • I cut out some of the images from the Monster Bash Designer Series paper along with a strip of the cobweb patterned paper to decorate the front to the coffin.

Monster Bash Coffins

  I thought the coffins made a great little box for some ribbon – even if they were “Just a Little Creepy”

Here you can see the empty box which has some DSP in the bottom.

I enjoyed making both these projects.

 Now hop of through and see what projects the other talented members of the Pretty Cards & Papers Design Crew have created with this month’s Designer Series Papers.

Let’s get Dotty with Masks! Trip Achievers Blog Hop

Greek Isles Incentive Trip Achievers Blog HopHello and Welcome to the September Greek Isles Trip Achievers’ Blog Hop.

Those hopping today are all Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world who met the requirements to earn the amazing 2019  Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip to the Greek Isles. While every demo can work towards and potentially earn the trip, only a limited number of demos (less than 1% of all demonstrators) reach the level required to earn the trip each year. Of the more than 50,000 demonstrators from throughout the world – 445 achieved the level required to earn the Greek Isles Trip.

As Achieving Demonstrators, we hop together once a month to show you ideas and design using “current” Stampin’ Up!® products – and as September is the end of our Stampin’ Up! year – this is our last hop together as the Greek Isles Achievers!

Keep an eye out for the Maui Trip Achievers’ Blog Hop starting in October.

I am delighted to report that I have reached the level required – and can now say “I’ve earned Maui”!

Thanks to everyone who has helped me reach that goal – family, customers, team, upline, and many others.

I won’t actually be able to go on the trip to Maui next July for several reasons. However, it is exceptionally satisfying to have met the criteria and to stay part of the small group of achieving demonstrators throughout the world who reach at this level. And I get to hop with the group for another year!

My Blog Hop Project for September is a trio of cards I made at my recent Creative Escape (weekend craft retreat)

Project – Let’s get dotty with masks!

The three cards made using the backgrounds created during my demonstration of using the Basic Patterns Decorative Masks with Embossing Paste, Pigment Sprinkles and a spritzer.

Here’s me in action doing the demo – and getting a little messy!

All were made on shimmery white cardstock using the dotty patterned mask This is the order the patterns were made.

“Life is so good with a friend like you” (Sentiment from “Friend Like You”)

Embossing paste spread thinly over the mask, Pigment Sprinkles sprinkled over the paste which coloured the paste. Run the palette knife over the mask again and the mask removed.

The result – coloured paste dots

pigment sprinkles and masks

“Happy Day!” (Sentiment from “Friend Like You”)

Without cleaning it from the previous pattern, water was spritzed onto the mask.

Place wet side down onto shimmery white cardstock and press gently. Remove mask.

The result – solid colour with white dots.

pigment sprinkles and masks

“You paint my world with Happiness” (Sentiment from “It Starts with Art”)

Place the mask with the “wet” side up on a third piece of card stock.

Use the palette knife to spread the remaining water/paste over the mask. remove mask.

The result –  splodgy colour pattern with some circles.

Pigment Sprinkles and Masks

The colour of the Pigment Sprinkles is very vibrant – and the little jars they come in are very user-friendly!

Pigement Sprinkles

I used the dotty pattern in my demonstration and resulting projects – but there are another three fabulous patterns in the Basic Patterns Decorative Mask set.

Basic Patterns Decorative Masks

I sure had fun demonstrating the masks and sprinkles to those attending my Creative Escape – and then more fun creating the 3 projects – pairing the samples that created during the demonstration with other bright products that co-ordinated so well.

Thank you for joining us today – we are so happy that you are hopping our blog hop.

Make sure that you visit each of the blogs – don’t miss one as there are incredible projects to inspire you.

All Star Tutorial Bundle

Our Design team has created a bundle of 12 tutorials using Stampin’ Up! products.
This month the bundle contains tutorials for projects using lots of product we received from 2019 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue which was released yesterday. Here’s a Sneak Peek of what you will receive in the bundle.

September Bundle Sneak Peek

The Tutorial Bundles are based on currently available supplies from Stampin’ Up! and will have both metric and imperial (inches) measurements. So no matter where you live in the world, you can purchase these tutorials and use them to create great projects!
The Tutorial Bundle is $NZ21 – or place an order over $NZ50 this month with me to receive this month’s tutorial for free. See the details at the end of the post to find out how you can get this exclusive bundle of tutorials.

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team Blog Hop

Remember, the projects in the Blog Hop are not the same projects as in our tutorial – the projects in the Tutorial Bundle are exclusive and not shown anywhere else. Here’s a better sneak peek of the project I’ve done for the Tutorial Bundle.

All Stars Bundle project

While the project being shared today and my Tutorial Project both use papers from the Noble Peacock Suite and some embossing of foil – there’s really nothing else in common between them.

September Project

All Stars September - Embossing on foil and Wetwipe inkpad

I have used several products from the Noble Peacock Suite- Specialty Designer Series Paper, Foil Sheets, ribbon and embellishments in my project.  I’ve also used the colour palette of the Noble Peacock Rhinestones – blueberry Bushell, Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Pretty Peacock. You can see the whole suite online HERE

Noble Peacock Suite

I haven’t used the stamps from the suite though. In the close up below, in the background behind the circles,  you can see some colourful leaves and a tiny script – both stamps are from the Very Versailles set – it’s very versatile!

embossed foil

The colourful leaves were achieved by making my own inkpad on a wet-wipe with drops of ink of all five colours dropped randomly over the wetwipe. I often do the wet-wipe inkpad technique in autumn colours, which looks great, but I think this is my new fav colour combo!

Here the all the images from the stamp set.

Very Versailles

The Blueberry Bushel foil circle was punched out before running it through the embossing machine in the Mosaic 3D folder. You can see the amazing effect again in in this closeup (it was so pretty I just wanted to add another pic!)!

As well as the mosiac shaped pattern, the detail is some amazing in these folders, there is even texture on each individual little tile!

The other circles are smaller and one is the Pretty Peacock coloured Speciatly DSP and the smallest from the Old Olive Foil Sheets.

I’ve carried the coloured leaves through to the inside of the card of course!

Both greetings (“my friend” and “Happy Birthday”) are from the “I Say Hello” stamp set. Lots of useful sentiments here!

I say Hello

I had lots of fun making this card and so did attendees at my monthly Technique Class in August!

holiday catalogue

While I haven’t used any new goodies in the project – remember – the new 2019 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue is now live. View it all at my ONLINE STORE. If you live in New Zealand and would like a copy – please message me.

Now, it’s time to enjoy the other fabulous creations by the All Star Design Team.

Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop – Bells are Ringing

Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop.

I was super excited to recently be asked to join the Stampin’ Creative Design Team and this is my first month hopping with this creative group!

Our Design Team is made up of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from throughout the world and I look forward to hopping with them each month and sharing new Creative projects with you all. You may be starting the hop here – or have hopped over from the talented American Demo – Kim Vogel.

Our “theme” this month is Sneak Peeks from the about-to-be-released Holiday Catalogue – also known as the Autumn Winter Catalogue in the Northern Hemisphere Stampin’ Up! Markets.

(If you are in New Zealand and would like a copy – please contact me. All the products I mention will be available to purchase from 4th September – unless you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and you can get them now!)

The project I’m sharing is one I designed for our thINK Creative Team Crafting Day which was held on Sunday just past. I love gathering with them before a new catalogue goes live to get creative with new goodies!

This was my Shoebox Swap project – so those participating got to make it on Sunday.

Bells are Ringing Project

Bells are Ringing Wedding Card

There are a few sneak peeks in my card today – below is a picture of the new products I’ve used.

New products in Bells are Ringing Wedding Card

The bells and bow on my card are from the Bells are Ringing Bundle (Page 17).

  • I’ve cut the detailed bell from Silver Foil using one of the dies from the Detailed Dies that are available on their own or as part of the bundle. The little swirls on the bottom right corner of the card are part of this same die.
  • The other bell and the bow are stamped in Basic Grey and die cut. I’ve put some Wink of Stella on the bow.
  • The bell pattern is stamped with one of the new Delicata Metallic Inks – Silvery Shimmer (Page 16). It’s a bit hard to tell in the photos – but this has a subtle silver shimmer when stamped. As this is a pigment ink, I left it to dry a few minutes before touching the stamped image. It didn’t take long – but you could use your heat tool to set it more quickly if you are in a hurry!
  • I’ve wrapped a piece of Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon around my card. The close up (Top Left in the collage) also shows the detail on the new Mercury Glass Designer Series Acetate.
  • You may also see some stamping behind the acetate. I’ve stamped on the inside of the card at the level of the acetate. (Bottom Left in the collage) Because the acetate has a pattern on it in the silvery shades of mercury, the stamping is partially obscured behind it.

Bells are Ringing Wedding

The image of the Mercury Glass Designer Acetate on Page 33 of the catalogue is easy to overlook. Don’t be fooled – this product is gorgeous! While I’ve only used one in my project – there are two different patterns and you get two 12″ x 12″ sheets of each pattern.

  • The acetate is strong enough to form part of the card base without warping. I cut a piece out of the front of my card and inserted a piece of acetate that was slightly taller in its place. Being taller than the gap allowed me to attach the acetate to the inside of the Thick Whisper White card base, using Tear and Tape top and bottom in the gap that was left behind.
  • When light falls onto the acetate, it makes cool patterns on the inside of the card. (Top Right of Collage)
  • Another new product on my card that is a little hard to see in the photos is the Shimmery Crystal Effects (Page 41). You can see it on the “ringer” of the bell (Bottom Right in Collage). I loved Crystal Effects when we had it before, and the added shimmer in this reinvented product is a real bonus. You just squeeze it on and leave it to dry to form a clear, smooth, shiny area that is completely non-tacky when dry. You can also use the crystal effects as an adhesive – perfect to a stick Glitter with!
  • While the Bells are Ringing Bundle is primarily a set for the Holidays, I wanted to show that it was also super appropriate for other events just by pairing it with some alternative stamp sets. As I was making a wedding card, the Cheers to That stamp set (Page 58) was perfect for my card!

We had fun making the card at our team crafting day – hope you’ve enjoyed the sneak peek of some new products.

Now it’s time to hop on over to Tamara Bertrum – another talented North American Demo – this time from Canada (my 2nd favourite country in the world!). And then keep on hopping to see what projects the other members of the Design Team have shared today!

 Until next time

Jackie aka CreativeJax

Pretty Cards & Paper – August Hop – Come Sail Away

Pretty

Welcome to this month’s Pretty Cards & Paper International Blog Hop.

Our Design Team is made up of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from throughout the world – one from each of the countries/markets that Stampin’ Up! has a presence in.

Each month we will be featuring a different card or designer series paper and in August we are featuring the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper in our projects.

Here’s all the important info:

Come Sail Away 12″ X 12″ (30.5 X 30.5 cm) Designer Series Paper 149481

Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper features maritime designs in nautical colours.

* 12 sheets of patterned paper: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs
* 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm)
* Acid free
* Lignin free

Product colours: Balmy Blue, Basic Black, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Soft Suede, Whisper White

While on the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip to the Greek Isles with other Achieving Demonstrators from throughout the world there was a voluntary card swap and 3D swap organised by Stampin’ Up! – I participated in both. My 3D swap featured in the All Stars Tutorial Blog Hop earlier this month – if you missed it you can see it HERE

After handing in my swaps early in the week, I received 25 fabulous swaps back later in the week, and I am CASEing one of those for today’s project.

The lovely Lisa Brown, who lives in Ohio in the US, made a cute mini album and here is my take on it that features the Come Sail Away DSP and the coordinating Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack.

Come Sail Away August Project

It may be a bit hard to see the DSP in this view, as I have layered a Memories & More card on top of it.

But you can see it more clearly on the back of the mini-album.

Many of the papers in the Come Sail Away DSP pack have shades of Night of Navy and Balmy Blue. But I wanted to go with the other colours in the suite – so have used Mossy Meadow and Basic Black as my base colours. While Soft Suede also features on the cards I have used, I’ve gone for the coordinating, paler colour of Crumb Cake for my Belly Band and as mats in the album.

Below you can see (top to bottom):

  • The front of the album with the belly band removed
  • The album opened without being extended
  • The opened album with the sides extended (even though they look different in the photo – both of the middle mats are Crumb Cake!)

To give you an idea of how the album folds here are a few photos from different angles.

You can see some more of the Come Sail Away DSP has been used on the extending parts of the album.

Below is the fully extended album from both sides.

As I mentioned, in addition to the DSP, I also used several 3″ x 4″ cards from the Memories & More Card Pack. I love the variety in both the DSP and the Memories & More cards – you can achieve very different looks depending which ones you use!

This project would make a fabulous masculine gift – handy with Father’s Day gift only a couple of weeks away here in New Zealand.

 Now hop of through and see what projects the other talented members of the Pretty Cards & Papers Design Crew have created with this versatile DSP.

All Star Tutorial Bundle Monthly Blog Hop – Kiwifruit Lollies from a Kiwi

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team

Hello from New Zealand – It’s your friendly Kiwi here!

I’ve been “Missing in Action” – well mostly in action – while away – but definitly “Missing in Inaction” since getting home last Monday. I’ve been mostly in my bed, or on the couch with a cough & cold since our epic 61-hour trip home was completed.  Feeling much better now and pleased to be hopping with the Tutorial Bundle Design Team.

I will try to blog a bit about our fabulous 4 weeks away which included the week-long Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip. If there is one word to describe the trip – I think it would be “WOW”!

Remember, only a limited number of demos (less than 1% of all demonstrators) reach the level required to earn the trip each year.

I’d again like to take the chance to thank all my customers and team and family and friends who support my business and who helped me earn this trip! I do appreciate the support you give me!

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team

Here’s a look at the current All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team. I’m humbled to be part of such an incredible group of amazing women and have them as part of My Story! And it was so great to be able to catch up with many on the Greek Isles Trip – along with lots of other fab Stampin’ Up! peeps!

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team 2019

The team is ready to help you create beautiful handmade projects featuring Stampin’ Up! products. We have a June Tutorial Bundle and a Blog Hop for you.

All Star Tutorial Bundle

Our Design team has created a bundle of 12 tutorials using Stampin’ Up! products.
This month the bundle contains tutorials for traditional style cards, 3D packaging, fancy fold cards, and paper crafting techniques! It’s full of fabulous projects you don’t want to miss out on. It’s jam-packed with inspiration with products from the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue and even some using product we received from the not-yet-released Holiday Catalogue while we were on the Incentive Trip! Here’s a Sneak Peek of what you will receive in the bundle.

August Bundle Sneak Peek

My project is my 3D swap for the Incentive Trip. Joining the swaps are voluntary. In this swap, those participating made 26 identical 3D items and handed them into the Stampin’ Up! staff at the Hospitality room at the beginning of the trip, towards the end of the week we were able to collect a package that contained 25 different 3D swaps. I just love swapping as you get lots of great projects and ideas back.

This year I did “Kiwiana” themed swaps – for both my 3D swap and my card swap.

Here’s a look from another angle.

As soon as I saw the “Slice of Happiness” stamp set I knew I had to have it. It had a Kiwifruit image – how could a Kiwi girl resist?!

A slice of kiwifruit is indeed a slice of happiness

Note: Some info from a Kiwi girl!

New Zealanders ALWAYS call this tasty fruit a Kiwifruit – NEVER a Kiwi.

A “Kiwi” is the bird – we don’t call it a “Kiwi Bird” – just a Kiwi. New Zealanders are also referred to as a Kiwi. So when we talk about Kiwis, we are referring to the bird – or the people.

We eat Kiwifruit – we don’t eat Kiwis!

Inside my gift box are some kiwifruit lollies. (Lollies = candy/sweets)

The “crate” is made with the “Perfect Parcel” dies. I’ve modified it a little and added a ribbon handle to make a crate shaped box.

The set only arrived days before we left for our trip – so I frantically cut and stamped everything I needed – but didn’t get these little cuties made up.

So on our first quieter day on our holiday in Italy, I spent some time to construct them – I even had a little help!

It’s quite a production line!

One of the great things about this parcel die is that even after the box has been constructed, you can fold it flat – perfect for a swap that was traveling many, many miles!

The Old Olive paper from the Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper coordinates beautifully with the kiwifruit images, which have been stamped in Granny Apple Green.

My project in August’s Tutorial Bundle also features some Kiwifruit treats! Here is a sneak peek of my tutorial project.

Now, it’s time to enjoy the other fabulous creations by the All Star Design Team.

July All Stars Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop -Butterfly Wishes

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team

Hello from Montepulciano in Tuscany, Italy!

Roy (hubby) and I have been in Italy for just over a week. We will soon be joining the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip – which leaves from Rome on Sunday. We will have a week with other achieving demonstrators – and their families and guests – for a week cruise around the Greek Isles! We are very excited about that! So looking forward to catching up with my GlobalStampin’ Up! Family!

We have enjoyed several amazing experiences since arriving in Italy – Aida the Opera at the Arena in Verona as part of the Opera summer Festival, touring Venice, sunset boat tour at Cinque Terre, experiencing the Palio di Siena with one of the participating Contrada and now enjoying a few days in the heart of red wine country!

I’d again like to take the chance to thank all my customers and team and family and friends who support my business and who helped me earn this trip! I do appreciate the support you give me!

Remember, the projects in the Blog Hop are not the same projects as in our tutorial – the projects in the Tutorial Bundle are exclusive and not shown anywhere else.
My project is a card featuring something new and something old!

Birthday Wishes

The stamp set – Butterfly Wishes is new in the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue and it coordinates with something old – The Butterfly Duet Punch.

I stamped several of the small butterflies in Gorgoeus Grape on Whisper White card stock and then punched them out with the Butterfly duet punch, Love it that there is another stamp set this cute punch works with now!

I’ve also punched 23 butterflies out of Whisper White – unstamped.

After arranging the white butterflies and one of the stamped ones in a grid on the front of the card I stuck the white ones down flat with Multipurpose Glue. I curled the wings of the coloured one and stuck it on with a couple of glue dots and with Stampin’ Up! Mini Dimensionals under the wings.

The greeting is from the same stamp set and I’ve popped on a coordinating Glitter Enamel Dot.

Here’s a view showing some inside detail

I stamped off the butterfly image several times before I stuck another of the coloured butterflies to the inside of the card. It gives the impression of movement.

My project in June’s Tutorial Bundle also features ! Here is a sneak peek of my tutorial project.

Pretty Cards and Paper – Bird Ballard International Blog Hop

Pretty

Welcome to this month’s Pretty Cards & Paper International Blog Hop.

Our Design it with DSP name and graphic have had a bit of a rebrand – but our focus is still very much on designing projects with beautiful Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper – as well as the gorgeous cards available to purchase and use. Our Design Team is made up of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from throughout the world – one from each of the countries/markets that Stampin’ Up! has a presence in.

Each month we will be featuring a different card or designer series paper and in June we are all using the Bird Ballard Designer Series Paper in our projects.

Bird Ballard

Here’s all the important info:

BIRD BALLARD 12″ X 12″ (30.5 X 30.5 cm) Designer Series Paper 149592

Images in the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper were hand-coloured using Stampin’ Blends for a soft, blended look.

* 12 sheets: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs
* 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm)
* Acid free
* Lignin free

Coordinating colours: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Soft Suede, Whisper White

In my Technique classes last week I showcased a fancy fold – the Easel Card. I had samples of a standard easel card and a twisted easel card and attendees made a diamond easel card. My standard easel card featured the Bird Ballard DSP and in the project, I’m sharing today.

There are three different patterns from the Bird Ballad DSP used in the card, along with the front of one of the Bird Ballard note cards. I love how all these products work together – as well as looking good as stand-alone items.

The birds are not stamped – they are fussy cut from one of the patterns and then popped onto a hexagon (cut with the Nested Label Dies) in a second pattern from the DSP pack. The Sentiment is stamped onto a smaller die cut from the same pattern.

And the inside/base of the card has the bright and cherry stripes – a third different pattern from the DSP.

One of the things any easel card needs is some sort of “stopper” to keep the easel open. The front of the card must be supported – or have something that will stop it sliding shut.

I cut out the centre of the laser cut card front (it was behind the label so thought it would not be missed!) and wanted to use that. It was to lacey and not strong enough to use on its own, so I cut a circle of window sheet a little large and stuck the paper lace onto that. By bending it a little it makes a great stopper for this easel card. I also popped one of the gorgeous Brid Ballard Trinkets on top. This would have been enough to be the stopper itself, but in this case, it is just for decoration.

I’m delighted to be in the 2019 All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team. We each create an exclusive project for a monthly Bundle of pdf tutorials as well as creating another project we share in our monthly Blog Hop early each month.

Entering the Hostess code combines the value of online orders – which assists me to offer events and thank you’s for my customers and support charities such as Ronald MacDonald House and local events where I donate product and/or classes.

The current Hostess Code can be found at the top right of my webpage.

If your order is over $300, please

do not use this code

as You become the hostess and get the Rewards!
